Plain cotton linen dyed fabric is solid, single-shade material made from 85% pure cotton and 15% linen, piece-dyed for even, rich colour with no prints. This dyed cotton linen is 52 inches wide and weighs around 160 GSM, a medium weight that tailors cleanly into shirts, kurtas and structured trousers. The generous 52-inch width means less fabric is needed per garment, and the solid piece-dye gives an even colour across the whole length of cloth.

For a shirt, buy around 2 metres; a kurta needs about 2.5 metres, and a pair of trousers roughly 1.3 to 1.5 metres. This fabric is sold by the metre, so you order the exact running length you need. For a full kurta-pyjama set, around 3.5 metres works well.
